Chris Grant is a talented singer‑songwriter from Morayshire in North‑East Scotland, whose earthy, raspy-and-soulful voice draws comparisons to Joe Cocker and Ray LaMontagne. He began his musical journey in Glasgow’s vibrant open‑mic scene back in 2007 and later founded a local open‑mic night in Morayshire—sparking a love for live performance that has driven his career ever since .

 

To date, Chris has crafted two defining albums: The Road (2018), a country/Americana narrative that explores the bar‑room troubadour life, and Treading Water (2021), a richly soulful record praised for its emotional depth and blend of R&B, blues, and classic balladry. Critics welcomed Treading Water as “a magnificent album… a slow‑burn husky cocktail of Otis Redding and Rod Stewart”, lauding its dynamic storytelling and resonant tone.

 

Now, backed by 10 self-made albums and sustained artistic growth, Chris is launching his most daring work yet: On The Run, an Americana crime‑thriller musical. With a cinematic scope, compelling characters, and his trademark soulful voice, this 11th album represents the culmination of 16 years of learning, experimenting, and honing his craft.
