Chris Grant

Chris Grant is a talented singer-songwriter hailing from Morayshire in North East Scotland. With a passion for live music, Chris has been actively participating in the open mic scene since 2007. His music is heavily influenced by iconic artists such as Joe Cocker and Van Morrison, as well as modern soul singers like Marcus King and Foy Vance.

In addition to his solo career, Chris is a member of the band “The Blues Response Unit,” playing at larger venues and festivals with the simple aim of getting audiences dancing. Chris also established a weekly open mic night at Flanagan’s Bar in Elgin, replicating the vibrant open mic scene he experienced in Glasgow.

Chris’ soulful, raspy, and earthy voice captures the attention of listeners and has led him to release several albums, including “The Road” in 2018 and “Treading Water” in 2021. His work showcases a blend of feel and emotion, often featuring collaborations with local musicians. His dedication to his craft is evident in the time and effort he puts into his music. His album “The Road” was a labor of love, taking over four years to complete and involving more than twenty musicians and three studios. As an artist continually working on new projects, Chris has plans for a second solo live album and a “Best of” compilation of his first five full band albums.
